Google Enhances Search with AI Overviews and Interactive Features

Google is transforming its Search experience by rolling out new AI-driven features:

  • AI Overviews: Users can now ask follow-up questions from AI-generated summaries on Google Search. This enables a more conversational interaction, referred to as AI Mode.
  • Gemini 3: This will become the new global default model for producing AI Overviews, aiming to provide users with "a best-in-class AI response" directly in search results.
  • Personal Intelligence: Earlier this month, Google introduced features to integrate AI Mode more deeply within personal data, such as Gmail and Photos, offering tailored responses based on the user's ecosystem.
  • Robby Stein, VP of Product at Google Search, articulated the company’s vision to make search experiences more dynamic and helpful for complex queries.

These updates are part of Google's larger effort to pivot towards a more interactive, user-friendly search platform. Prior releases like AI Overviews for Gmail further show Google’s integration of AI across its suite of products.
