AI meeting notetaker app companies, including Otter, are transforming their business models to act as comprehensive workspaces, enabling users to integrate, search, and make decisions with data from various sources. Otter has introduced enterprise search capabilities by acting as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) client, allowing it to connect with external apps using a common standard.

  • Key Features: Users can now connect services like Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, Jira, and Salesforce, with upcoming integrations for Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Slack.
  • New AI Assistant: Redesigned to be consistently present, capable of understanding screen context, aiding users with real-time information.
  • Botless Meeting Capture: Following trends set by companies like Granola, recording is possible using system audio, available for both Mac and Windows.
  • Enterprise Preferences: Otter CEO Sam Liang notes a preference among enterprise clients for a notetaker bot joining meetings, ensuring transparency and shared notes.

Otter now has 35 million users, up from 25 million the previous year. Despite their expanded user base and enhanced functionalities, the company has not disclosed current financials for this year.
