ElevenLabs Releases Advanced AI Music Generator with Versatile Genre Capabilities

Voice AI company ElevenLabs has introduced Music v2, the updated version of its music-generation model. Announced nearly 10 months after their initial AI music model, Music v2 showcases several innovative features:

  • Ability to switch between genres within the same track, transitioning from opera to heavy metal or fast rap while maintaining coherence.
  • Incorporation of non-musical sound effects into tracks.
  • Flexibility for artists to recreate parts of a song using prompts and to construct a song section by section (intro, verse, chorus) and then stitch them together.
  • Enhanced performance across multiple languages, lyrics, vocals, and arrangements.

The launch occurs amid a competitive surge in AI music generation, with companies like Google, Stability AI, and Suno also advancing music-generating technologies capable of producing professional-grade tracks.

ElevenLabs emphasizes that Music v2 has been developed with licensed data ensuring its commercial usability, standing in contrast to some competitors facing legal challenges over copyright. The model is available for marketing teams through the ElevenCreative tool and on the ElevenMusic platform, with an API version forthcoming.
