Agility Robotics Announces Public Listing Amidst Humanoid Robot Expansion

Agility Robotics, a humanoid robotics startup from Oregon State University, plans to go public by merging with Churchill Capital Corp XI, assigning the company a value of $2.5 billion. This deal aims to generate over $620 million in proceeds, largely supported by a mixture of new and existing institutional investors. Notably backed by Amazon, Nvidia, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Agility Robotics is most recognized for its Digit robot, currently operational across nine notable sites, including Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and Mercado Libre. The capital injection from the SPAC merger will be utilized to amp up production of the next-generation Digit v5, satisfy existing orders, and venture into untapped markets. The startup has secured over $300 million in multi-year orders for the Digit model and is exploring large-scale deployment with more than 30 potential customers. Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility, emphasizes the importance of humanoid robots in enhancing productivity, addressing labor issues, and supporting AI-driven automation safely and efficiently. Once public, the company intends to trade under the ticker symbol AGLT on a North American exchange. - Humanoid robots, such as Digit, are being strategically positioned to tackle global supply chain challenges and append U.S. tech leadership.
